WIN A STUDENT GRANT IN 60 SECONDS: SECOND DEADLINE The Avid Asia-Pacific Student Grant contest is an initiative designed to encourage students’ creativity, enthusiasm and commitment to media. Every 2 months until July 2008, a student will win a ‘mobile film studio’ including Avid Media Composer editing software, Sony Digital HD Video Camera and a HP laptop. Students enter by uploading a 60 second video clip to www.avid-asia.com/competitions. The clip can be new or old content created by the student either in the course of their studies or during their own time. The winning entries are judged on criteria such as originality and creativity. Round 1 of the Avid Student Grant contest closed on September 30, 2007. Avid received 75 entries from schools around the region including Queensland School of Film and Television, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore ,Victoria University of Wellington and universities from the Philippines also participated from competition. Round 2 has now commenced and the new deadline is 30th November 2007. We encourage students from Philippines to upload their works and showcase their talent. [ Date: 08-28-07 ] Our Technical Support Engineers Passed the ISIS Training! John Paul Canoza and Julius Santua both passed the ISIS Certified Training Course held at the Avid Singapore Office between August 20 - 24, 2007. As part of DMI's commitment of improving the abilities and skills of its staff, the two engineers have been sent to train with their Avid counterparts for three weeks starting August 20, 2007. The trainings are divided into three courses which corresponds to each of the three weeks that they will be there. The ISIS Training is the first of these trainings and is the only ACSR Certification Training being offered to resellers. It is followed by Interplay Networking and Interplay Applications respectively. Again, CONGRATULATIONS to you guys and goodluck on the next trainings!
